Angel investors have many start up and early stage investments to choose from

After almost a decade of experience with several Internet start up companies, I feel confident in several “rules of thumb”. For example, start up companies are not defined as firms that only exist on paper, or in someone’s mind. Angel and private equity investors see start ups as companies that one or more entrepreneurs have already poured their own time and money into to get them off the ground. Early stage investors are looking for companies that have had early success and need capital to take the next step. Venture capital investors have a huge selection of early stage investment opportunities. If you’re in need of private investors or venture capital (i.e. you need an Angel to get to the next step), you need to get your ducks in a row, and be prepared to surrender a large percentage of equity in order to loosen the Angel’s wallet.
